James Alan Fox: “Better to pre-habilitate children than rehabilitate killers”

Dr James Alan Fox’s article in the LA Times, “Better to pre-habilitate children than rehabilitate killers,” looks at the need for communities to invest in providing parents of at-risk youth the resources to prevent them from committing crimes instead of providing these tools after a person has been convicted. “We need to assist parents, not assail them, by promoting quality day care and family support programs. As a society, we also need to do a better job of providing access to opportunities that are as attractive and realistic as what neighborhood gangs can offer.”
