About Us

The Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project (CRRJ) was launched in April 2007. Researchers, educators, lawyers, and policymakers contribute to CRRJ's documentation and educational programs, which are designed to:

  1. Document anti-civil rights violence
  2. Provide resources to lawyers, scholars, journalists, and civil rights activists
  3. Provide support to communities addressing civil rights-era harms through truth-seeking mechanisms, reparations, and litigation

CRRJ is housed at Northeastern University School of Law. It is directed by NUSL Professor Margaret Burnham.
