Master of Science in Project Management

Project managers are expected to deliver projects on time, on budget, and according to specifications, and must also have expertise in the following areas: project definition, cost and risk estimation, schedule planning and monitoring, budget management, negotiation and conflict resolution, project leadership, and project presentation and evaluation. The Master of Science in Project Management is designed to prepare students with the skills necessary to manage and oversee small and large projects in a variety of industries, from initial project definition through performance evaluation. This degree provides students with practical and theoretical foundations that allow them to better plan, schedule, and oversee the major activities that surround a project. These conceptual foundations are augmented with specialized tracks that provide students with content-specific expertise tailored to their technical interests and that lead to greater career opportunities.

Master of Science in Leadership with Project Management Specialization

The traditional concept that leadership skill resides solely with a small handful of top executives has given way to contemporary collaborative models, where influence and decision-making authority are distributed throughout an organization. Today's workforce continues to diversify, and the tasks to be accomplished have become more complex. Northeastern's Master of Science in Leadership is designed to assist today's leaders and prepare emerging leaders in meeting these challenges. This program incorporates an action-learning approach that is intended to leverage the interdisciplinary backgrounds of participants to help build leadership competencies. Students in this program may apply any successfully completed CPS graduate certificate to the overall program requirements and focus their studies on one of more than twenty areas of specialization or choose one of the following leadership concentrations:
