Many faculty grapple with the challenge of effectively presenting a high volume of content through lecture. What content should be included? What is the best sequence? What level of detail do students need? Such decisions, which can be difficult to make, can have a major impact on student attention and comprehension. In this session, participants will organize content, and devise advance organizers, based on how students will use the information. These strategies help to communicate complex content clearly and with a focus on the desired outcomes. A facilitated, asynchronous online working group will be available for those who would like to continue working as a group to develop and exchange feedback on revised lectures.
