How Can We Get Students to Read Academic Texts at a Deeper Level? (Research Now)

Thursday, April 2, 12:15-1:15 PM

Join us for our lunchtime reading group discussing current research in the area of teaching and learning.  At this session we will be discussing a study (MacMillan 2014) on the ways in which students read scholarly texts and connect (or fail to connect) the information to their experiences and prior knowledge.

These meetings are held on the assumption that participants have been able to read the article in advance.  Light lunch will be served.
