Lisa Feldman Barrett

I am a third-year graduate student working with Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett. Before arriving at Northeastern, I studied emotion regulation and memory development using fMRI brain scans. In the next few years, I hope to continue exploring human emotion as manifested by brain activity. Specifically, I am interested in finding out how the brain creates the phenomenon that we call emotion. This includes examining the broader, distributed brain networks that provide the essential elements of an emotional experience and also the interaction between networks. After gaining more insights into the neural mechanisms of emotion, I would like to go on to investigate its regulation as a result of conscious effort.
