Neal Pearlmutter

I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Prof. Neal Pearlmutter’s Sentence Processing Laboratory. I am interested in understanding how the semantic features and conceptual properties of words and phrases influence the planning of sentences during language production. My current research explores factors involved in subject-verb agreement errors; specifically, I am attempting to independently manipulate semantic integration, defined as the degree to which the constituent elements of a phrase are closely linked at the message level, and semantic relatedness, defined as the relationship that exists between some noun pairs on any number of semantic dimensions.
