Congratulations to Isha Vicaria, a second-year psychology graduate student, who was recently selected to join the Science Committee within the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS). With over 30,000 members, APAGS is the largest organization of graduate students in psychology worldwide. The members of various committees participate in advocacy and outreach efforts aimed at attaining the highest quality of graduate training for the next generation of leaders, practitioners and innovators in psychology.

The Science Committee in particular promotes the development and advancement of psychological science in both academic and professional settings. As a committee member, Isha is involved in planning and organizing symposia, workshops, and themed sessions for the annual APA conference. The committee organizes sessions especially relevant to science-focused students, including topics such as publishing, teaching, and grant funding.

Members of the Science Committee also advocate for the expansion of funding resources for student research at the national level by managing various grant programs for graduate students in psychology. In all, committee members are dedicated to keeping psychological science at the forefront of policymaking and psychological organizations.

Congratulations, Isha!
