Classes numbered under 2000, are elementary, and include courses that prepare for Calculus as well as courses that satisfy the level 1 NU core. Those at the 2000 level include Calculus and some level 2 core courses. Courses in the 3000 and 4000 range are the advanced math electives, and 5000 and above are graduate courses.

Also, note that there are several Calculus sequences, but Calculus for Science and Engineering is intended for students who will continue with mathematics at the level of Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and beyond.
