Senior Research Technician

Francis manages the technical aspects of the lab’s projects, which include equipment, schedules, field trips, websites, and databases. Francis is fascinated with the effects of indirect anthropogenic stresses on marine species. He obtained his M.Sc. at the University of British Columbia, studying potential anthropogenic impacts on the establishment of marine intertidal invasive species. He continued his career studying anthropogenic impacts at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada for two years after obtaining his degree. Francis joins the Helmuth lab to further pursue and learn how intertidal species can be impacted by the projected human-induced impacts of climate change.
