Area(s) of Expertise
Organic Synthesis, chemical biology, bioorganic chemistry
My research interests combine organic synthesis, chemical biology, and bioorganic chemistry: studying ways in which organic chemistry can be used as a tool to address biological questions. Research projects involve (1) understanding the role of carbohydrates in diseases like severe malaria, and how one might inhibit undesired carbohydrate-protein interactions and (2) synthesis and optimization of antimalarial hit compounds.
