Gilead Tadmor
Degrees/Education
PhD, Weizmann Institute of Science, 1984
Area(s) of Expertise
Basic system theory, Distributed parameter systems, Control systems, Optimal control, Nonlinear control, Dynamic estimation, Reduced dynamic order models, Medical imaging
Research Interests
Prof. Tadmor’s research interests cover areas of basic systems theory, linear and nonlinear dynamics, distributed parameter systems, system identification and model order reduction, and robust and optimal control. A central theme in his current research is the development of new methodologies for model order reduction, control and observer design for unsteady fluid dynamics. Other current projects include the utilization of dynamic models in bio-medical imaging, real time video analysis, and in information extraction from massive data streams. Previous work covered control and estimation problems arising in the control of electric motor drives, power electronics and power systems.
