PhD Graduates (May 2016 ceremony)

Dissertation Defenses must occur no later than April 22, 2016. Graduates must have their dissertations submitted to ProQuest by April 22, 2016 in order to be hooded in the May 5, 2016 commencement ceremony. August 2016 graduates will be invited to participate in the May 2017 ceremony.

Master’s Graduates

January 2016, May 2016, and August 2016 graduates should plan to participate in the May 6, 2016 ceremony.

Graduate School Commencement Deadlines

January 2016 Graduates
Friday, December 11, 2015 – Last day to have theses or dissertations submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in January 2016.
Monday, December 21, 2015 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in January 2016.
Friday, January 8, 2016 – January 2016 graduation date (no ceremony). Diplomas will be dated January 8, 2016.

May 2016 Graduates
Friday, April 22, 2016 – Last day to have thesis/dissertation submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in May 2016.
Monday, May 2, 2016 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in May 2016.
Thursday, May 5, 2016 – PhD Hooding and Graduation Ceremony and Reception for August 2015, January 2016, and May 2016 PhD graduates.
Friday, May 6, 2016 – May 2016 Master’s Graduation date and ceremony.

August 2016 Graduates
Monday, August 15, 2016 – Last day to have theses or dissertations submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in August 2016.
Saturday, August 27, 2016 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in August 2016.
Wednesday, August 31, 2016 – August 2016 Graduation date (no ceremony). Diplomas will be dated August 31, 2016.

NOTE: Students submitting a thesis or dissertation to ProQuest between Friday, April 22, 2016 and Monday, August 15, 2016 must register for Continuation in the Summer 2016 semester.
