PhD Graduates (May 2017 ceremony)

Dissertation Defenses must occur no later than April 21, 2017. Graduates must have their dissertations submitted to ProQuest by April 21, 2017 in order to be hooded in the May 4, 2017 commencement ceremony. August 2016 graduates will be invited to participate in the May 2017 ceremony.

Master’s Graduates

December 2016, May 2017, and August 2017 graduates should plan to participate in the May 5, 2017 ceremony.

Graduate School Commencement Deadlines

December 2016 Graduates
Friday, December 9, 2016 – Last day to have theses or dissertations submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in December 2016.
Monday, December 19, 2016 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in December 2016.
Saturday, December 17, 2016 – December graduation date (no ceremony). Diplomas will be dated December 17, 2016.

May 2017 Graduates
Friday, April 21, 2017 – Last day to have thesis/dissertation submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in May 2017.
Monday, May 1, 2017 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in May 2017.
Thursday, May 4, 2017 – PhD Hooding and Graduation Ceremony and Reception for August 2016, January 2017, and May 2017 PhD graduates.
Friday, May 5, 2017 – May 2017 Master’s Graduation date and ceremony.

August 2017 Graduates
Monday, August 14, 2017 – Last day to have theses or dissertations submitted electronically via ProQuest in order to be cleared to graduate in August 2017.
Saturday, August 26, 2017 – Last day to have all outstanding degree requirements fulfilled in order to be cleared to graduate in August 2017.
Thursday, August 31, 2017 – August 2017 Graduation date (no ceremony). Diplomas will be dated August 31, 2017.

NOTE: Students submitting a thesis or dissertation to ProQuest between Friday, April 21, 2017 and Monday, August 14, 2017 must register for Continuation in the Summer 2017 semester.
