Tali Soroker is soaking up as much of Israel as she can. She lives one block from the biggest open-air market in Tel Aviv and 10 minutes from the beach.

But she spends much of her time on the job at her co-op.

The mathematics major is working for the financial tech start-up I Know First. The company provides a subscription service with daily stock market forecasts that are produced by an algorithmic system that is based on artificial intelligence and deep learning.

She explains, “My job is more on the business development side of the company, I’m mainly doing financial analysis and writing articles on various topics including top stock picks and how algorithms are integrated into trading strategies which are published on the company’s website and are submitted to outside publications such as Forbes Magazine.”

Soroker writes that she’s taking Hebrew classes twice a week and travels on the weekends.

“[Recently] there have been a ton of holidays here so I’ve been enjoying going to the beach and to dinners and barbeques with my family and friends.”

When she went out for Purim, a Jewish holiday similar to Halloween, she ran into The Donald and Hillary.

“Everybody dresses up in costumes and it’s a huge party all over the entire city with people walking around and concerts and DJs all over the place.”
