Nina Granow left the winter weather of Boston behind in January and set out to Atlanta, Georgia. There the psychology major is working as a policy analyst at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC is the nation’s largest public health agency. During her co-op, Granow is assisting with projects focused on identifying public health policies and interventions, using evidence to impact policy makers, and transforming health care through collaboration with other sectors.
“I have already learned so much about strategies to improve overall health and am so grateful for this experience,” she wrote in March. “Every day there is a new opportunity to attend an interesting seminar, meet a public health professional, or contribute to a meaningful project.”
Granow adds that when she is not working she has been exploring Atlanta and enjoying the local brunch festivals, live music and hikes.
