Marian
Stanley is vice president for University Corporate Partnerships at Northeastern
University, a private residential university of 20,000 students in the heart
of Boston. Her office works with major corporate partners in areas of student placements, faculty research, executive engagement, professional development and technology transfer. Stanley's career has spanned 30 years of business operations and consulting. Prior to her Northeastern assignment, she founded and led Stanley Global Resources, an independent management consulting firm specializing in market analysis, business plans and operational support. Previously, Stanley held senior responsibilities at Polaroid Corp. At various points in her career there, she ran market research and business planning, industrial new product development, major technical programs and, eventually, large international territories. Her last assignments included divisional vice president, Asia Pacific; corporate vice president, developing markets; and corporate vice president, Eurasia Africa. She served on the Polaroid board of directors from 1989 to 1993 as an ESOP employee, and was elected a corporate officer in 1996. Stanley has written for the Gannet newspapers and USA Today on issues of microfinance and international business. She is a graduate of Saint Bonaventure University and holds a master of arts degree from Boston College.
