Helpful tips when searching for housing outside of Massachusetts:

• Know what you can afford. Take into consideration monthly rent and all utilities
• Ask your co-op advisor to put you in touch with students who have lived in that co-op location. Gather information about the area from a first-hand source!
• Weigh in the pros and cons of renting furnished versus unfurnished apartments
• If time and finances allow, take a quick trip to the city to scope out the area
• Search the websites of off-campus resource offices at colleges and universities in your co-op location- most have apartment and roommate search engines that anyone can access
