Paris

Bonjour à toutes et à tous! My name is Ryan and I am a junior in the International Business program at Northeastern. I am incredibly excited to be doing my second co-op abroad at L’Oréal Paris, working in the international marketing development department for skin care products.

Aside from work, I am thrilled to have the chance to live in one of the greatest, as well as one of my favorite, cities in the world: Paris! Did you know that its nickname, La Ville-Lumière (the City of Light), does not in fact refer to the many glittering incandescents that illuminate its twenty arrondissements (neighborhoods), but rather the fact that Paris was a center for education and ideas during the Age of Enlightenment (17^th and 18^th centuries)?

As a Francophile, there is not much about France that I do not love. The language, the people, the food, and the façon de vivre are just a few of the many things I’ve grown to appreciate and admire while living here. I am really looking forward to meeting my fellow huskies in Paris this semester, and I hope that together we can experience the very many things this city has to offer. À bienôt!
