Located in Billerica, Massachusetts, EMD Serono is an affiliate of Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany, and a leader in the biopharmaceutical arena. It employs over 16,000 people worldwide, with a strong presence on six continents.

The firm has been a strong co-op partner with Northeastern for more than 10 years and hires approximately 14 students each year from the College of Arts and Sciences.
