While many Northeastern students who are aiming for medical school major in a science or health-related field, others choose a social science or humanities subject while focusing their electives on the sciences. This interdisciplinary approach gives premed-track students the opportunity to experience co-op at its broadest.
In the life sciences and related majors in the College of Science, the majority of the co-op positions are in research settings, either with biotechnology and biomedical companies, university or hospital laboratories, or private bioscience labs.
Co-op opportunities related to our health care majors include positions in public health services and health organizations working in the areas of health care policy, research, and statistics; in nursing positions with hospitals and health clinics; and in pharmacy positions with pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, research laboratories, retail pharmacies, and hospitals.
