Who We Are, What We Do & How We Can Help You
The Office of University Events is the primary organizer of major events for Northeastern University. We offer consultation services for Northeastern faculty and staff who are planning University events, meetings or conferences, or who are interested in hosting an outside group for an event at the University. We manage scheduling and use of the Egan Research Center meeting rooms, including Raytheon Amphitheater (240 Egan), 340 Egan, and 440 Egan. Our work planning major University events and consulting with faculty and staff is part of a larger, University-wide integrated event program that supports the University mission. Our principles are guided by the University’s core values, the foundational principles that form the basis for all Northeastern endeavors. Our job is to develop and manage events that illustrate Northeastern’s commitment to excellence, distinctiveness, and innovation. We do this by working with a broad spectrum of clients across the University—from the President’s Office to individual consultation with faculty and staff—to maintain professional event standards at all University events and to guide our clients through the process of producing a quality event at Northeastern
What we do We work in conjunction with the Office of the Provost, the colleges, the Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs, Public Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Human Resources Management, Institutional Diversity & Equity, the Office of the Board of Trustees, and the Commencement Office. Any event at Northeastern, regardless of its size, is a reflection of professional standards at the University. Through events, we extend the presidential standard of hospitality, create goodwill, develop friends, raise funds and project a positive image of the University. How we can help you Whether you need to find space for a meeting, plan an event, organize a special event or a conference, connect with the right caterer, book entertainment, or order gifts or awards, our office can advise you on the planning process and refer you to the appropriate resources. Some events are planned on short notice, and others are planned months or years ahead. Department budgets and staff resources are tight, so we can help you best by talking with you early in the process to plan your event in an efficient, cost-effective way. THIS PROCESS INCLUDES:
We’ll introduce you to other University departments and external suppliers with whom you may need to do business. Occasionally, under certain circumstances, our staff may take on a more involved role in helping you to plan your event. OUR SERVICES INCLUDE CONSULTATION ON:
