Mass Rides Car Pool Matching and Emergency Ride Home programs

PLEASE NOTE:  In advance of the end of the MassRIDES program in June 2019, the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program will be ending on April 30th, 2019. April 30th will be the last day users may take any ERH-sponsored trips. To successfully receive reimbursements, users must submit all outstanding ERH reimbursement requests by May 15th, 2019, with no exceptions.

MassRIDES is a free program of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) designed to help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality and mobility. To accomplish these goals, MassRIDES works with both employers and commuters within the Commonwealth to promote the use of commute options.

Using MassRides online tool Bay State Commute, users can find people who live and work near them interested in carpooling. Carpooling is a great way to split driving responsibilities, share associated cost, reduce our carbon footprint, and even make new friends. Through the University’s partnership with MassRIDES, employees who car/van pool, bike, walk or take public transit, are eligible for the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program. MassRIDES ERH program will reimburse up to $100 per emergency ride home (no more than 4 trips per calendar year).
