Community-Based Work-Study

Northeastern University students that qualify for the Federal Work-Study program as part of their financial aid have the opportunity to earn their work-study funds off-campus at a community organization or on-campus with the Center of Community Service.

Students serve as tutors or mentors, assist organizations in programming and outreach, or provide general office support. To apply for a community work-study position, visit the Student Employment website through your myNEU portal and search for “Center of Community Service” as your employer.

Some students have created their own community work-study placement with organizations that they have previous volunteered with. If you are interested in developing your own placement, please contact the Center and schedule an appointment with a Staff Member.
