Community-Based Work-Study

Northeastern University students who qualify for the Federal Work-Study program as part of their financial aid have the opportunity to earn their work-study funds by volunteering with service-focused student organizations providing volunteer services to off-campus communities.

Students serve as tutors or mentors, run afterschool programming for low-income students and help non-native speakers practice their English. Qualifying student organizations include Peace Through Play, Strong Women Strong Girls, and NUTells.

If you would like to explore the possibility of connecting your student organization with this program, please contact Anna Sylvester at a.sylvester@neu.edu.

Off-campus agencies interested in hosting work study positions for students should contact the Northeastern University Student Employment Office directly at 617.373.3200.
