nuSERVES

Overview

nuSERVES offers fifty incoming first-year Northeastern students an opportunity to explore their new community through community service. Students learn about issues affecting urban environments through the integration of educational workshops, trainings, and reflection. This knowledge is then applied to various service projects in the community.

nuSERVES not only challenges participants’ perceptions and assumptions, it encourages them to advocate for solutions, take action in their new community, and make long lasting friendships prior to the start of classes in the fall.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Service in the City’ and allows an opportunity for first year students to learn about the Boston community through a variety of service projects and events.

nuSERVES 2013 Dates:

  • Upperclass Team Leader Move-in & Training: Saturday, August 24th
  • First-Year Team Member Move-in & Program Start: Monday, August 26th
  • nuSERVES 2013 Program Week: Monday, August 26th - Friday, August 3oth
