Service & Leadership Development Series
Take a new approach to your community service and sign-up for the Service & Leadership Development Series for Fall 2009! This new program will combine opportunities to learn about issues affecting our local community through panel discussions, skill development seminars and hands-on service projects.
Each semester this program focuses on a particular issue area, allowing students to build both knowledge and skills that will help them develop into leaders concerned about the issues facing their community.
The Fall 2009 series will focus on Youth, and participants will have the opportunity to learn about the many issues facing young people in their community through discussions with those who serve youth through nonprofit organizations, as well youth who are engaged in their own communities. Fall 2009 sessions will be:
Session 1: Panel Discussion on Issues Affecting Boston Youth : Tuesday, September 29 – 5:30 to 7:30pm
Session 2: Leadership Skill Development on Serving Youth: Tuesday, October 27 – 5:30 to 7:30pm
Session 3: Discussion Forum on Engaging with Youth in Your Community: Tuesday, December 1 – 5:30 to 7:30pm
Session 4: Hands-On Service Project: Saturday, December 5 – approximately 9am to 1pm
*Students who sign up are expected to participate in the full program (all 4 sessions).
