Production Assistant
Position summary: Students will assist in the production of all sports programming, including studio and remote productions, Operate video equipment and provide technical assistance in setting up and coordinating shows.
- Major responsibilities/tasks:
- Provide support for sports staff in planning and coordinating productions.
- Support interdepartmental requests for tape duplication and production services.
- Assist in coordinating crews for many productions.
- Provides the technical set-up of studio/field control room for productions to ensure a high level of operational quality during a production.
- Produce and assist in producing programming. Assumes operational duties of various production crew positions (e.g., camera operator, producer, director, editor, etc.) as required by in-house studio production efforts and of field productions.
Communication Skills: represents Company, self and department in a positive and professional manner. Speaks and writes clearly and with sensitivity to diversity of audiences. Asks questions to clarify expectations and issues. Management of Resources: Is well organized and focuses on the highest priorities first. Leadership Skills: Maintains a positive, achievement-oriented attitude and influences others to do the same. Demonstrates high ethical standards and personal integrity. Business and Organization Knowledge: Clearly understand how individual responsibilities support the department mission.
Qualifications: Students must have a strong interest and passion to work in television production/cable industry. Experience with BetaCam SP Shooting, Writing scripts, Editing both Linear and Non-Linear systems, studio cameras is preferred but will train the right person. Previous production experience (or TV production course) is preferred. Computer Skills: general knowledge of Microsoft Office.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Valid driver's license with a Good driving history.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Daily in market. PHYSICAL: Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. of equipment.
Corporate Communications
Summary: The team is seeking a communications co-op to work directly with the Vice President of World Wide Client Support facilitating organization messaging, pod casts, strategic announcements, wiki building, bloging and marketing materials for business critical world wide initiatives.
The selected individual will be exposed to the on going executive decision making process. On a daily basis this person will have direct insight into the client support day to day business operations and strategy.
Qualifications/Skills Desired:
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, coupled with strong creative problem solving and collaboration skills.
- Qualified candidate should also have hands-on knowledge Microsoft PowerPoint
- Hands on knowledge of the following tools are preferred but not required.
- Web Conferencing Tools, tools such as WebEx, Adobe Connect or InterCall
- Video editing tools, such as Camtasia or Adobe
- Flexibility to occasionally work in non-standard business hours to accommodate global time zone differences.
- Ability to work well within a team environment preferred.
- Qualified candidate should have completed their sophomore, middler or junior year towards BA or BS in Communications or related field of study.

Public Relations
Summary: Students will assist the account teams with all aspects of agency work including research, contacting vendors, compiling press clips and editing documents.
- Work with vendors, including photographers, caterers and consultants as needed
- Conduct research for new business presentations

Requirements include:
- Prior office experience
- Computer proficiency, Web research and social media skills
- Ability to write well, with excellent verbal skills
- Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
Events/Annual Giving
Summary: The student will assist the Annual Giving team in fundraising. The Annual Giving team seeks yearly donations from alumni and non-alumni in support of ground-breaking scientific research, scholarship, and pioneering medical training.
Description:
- Participating in fundraising strategy meetings
- Assisting in the coordination and production of solicitation mailings
- Preparing mailing lists and mail merges
- Assisting in preparation of reports and documents
- Creating spreadsheets and tabulating fundraising results
- Tracking responses to solicitation mailings
- Researching and verifying alumni giving histories and address changes
- Assisting with database clean-up projects, as assigned
- Assisting with event preparation
- Assisting with office-wide mailings
- Assisting with inter-office clerical tasks
- Other duties, as assigned
