Student Speaker Information

Each year a graduating senior is asked to make a 5-minute presentation at the Commencement ceremony.  Any student graduating in 2012 (must have a degree conferral date of January, May or August 2012) who is participating in the morning undergraduate Commencement ceremony on May 4, 2012 may apply. 

You will be asked to submit the following by the deadline of March 12, 2012:

  1. Completed application (click here to download form)
  2. Resume
  3. Typed speech, double-spaced (approximately 3-5 pages)
  4. Video presentation via Internet link, timed at no more than 5 minutes

Submissions will be reviewed by the Student Speaker Selection Committee for the Class of 2012.  Applicants will be informed of the results by April 6.  All speeches and videos are submitted with the understanding that they may be posted on the University related web sites and/or used in university related publications.
