Graduate School Ceremony Information

The University Commencement will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Matthews Arena, Saint Botolph Street, Boston, MA.
 
• Student Report Time: 2:00 p.m.
• Student Procession begins:  3:00 p.m.
• Qualifying and attending candidates will be given 3 guest tickets

Ticket Distribution
3 guest tickets will be distributed ONLINE ONLY to qualifying candidates attending the Graduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 4, 2012 according to the following schedule:

Cap and Gown
Academic regalia will be provided to all qualifying candidates according to the following schedule:

Cabot Center/Solomon Court
Tuesday, May 1, 2012 and Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 3, 2012, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

A photographer will be on-site to take your graduation portrait. Plan accordingly.

NOTE: PhD academic regalia will be available at this location.

PhD STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED ALL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE BY THE SPECIFIED SPRING DATE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HOODING RITUAL OF THE CEREMONY. STUDENTS THAT ANTICIPATE GRADUATING BY AUGUST AND CANNOT MEET THE SPRING DEADLINE SHOULD PLAN TO BE HOODED AT THE FOLLOWING YEAR’S COMMENCEMENT.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a PhD hooding ceremony to honor the university’s PhD recipients. The ceremony will take place on May 3rd at 3:00 pm in the Cabot Physical Education Center Cage.  A reception will immediately follow to provide the recipients an opportunity to celebrate this important accomplishment with family and friends. 
Please note that eligibility requirements apply to participate in the hooding ceremony:  
• Candidates must complete the Graduation Application (available through the self-service tab on myNEU) by March 15 – if you have not already done so, we ask that you take this step today.
• Candidates must complete all academic requirements with a conferral date of August 2011, January 2012, or May 2012.
Additional details and ticket information will be forwarded at a later date and noted on the Commencement web site as they are confirmed.
