Troubleshooting
The answers to several common Collage issues are presented below. If you do not find the information you need to solve your Collage problems on this site, please e-mail serenasupport@neu.edu. Problem: You attempt to log in and receive an error message stating you have "No projects available" and to contact a system administrator. Solution: You likely are in the Collage user pool, but have not been assigned to any projects. Contact Web Services to be added to your Web project. Problem: You made changes to your site and successfully deployed the pages, but the changes are not appearing on the live Web site. Solution: You may have to refresh/reload the live Web pages in your browser. If this does not solve the problem, be sure that the pages you changed are checked in and approved and then re-deploy. Remember, Collage only deploys the most recently approved version of your pages. Problem: When attempting to edit a page, various formatting icons such as "Bold" or "Image" are not available or "grayed out." Solution: You need to download the most recent Serena Collage ActiveX control. Please contact Web Services for assistance. Problem: A file is checked out to another user who is unreachable (on vacation, etc.) and you need to make an urgent edit in the file. Solution: Select the file by clicking on the checkbox next to its file name. Then click the "Undo Checkout" icon. This will cause any changes made by the person to be lost, but will restore access. Problem: You can't find the "home page" to edit. Solution: The home page of a folder is named "index." If you do not see a file in your directory called "index" then it is likely your home page is not a Collage document. Please contact Web Services for assistance. Problem: Your browser doesn't seem to be functioning correctly when using Collage. Solution: Be sure to be using Internet Explorer 6.0+ on the PC or Firefox 1.5+ on the Mac. If you are receiving javascript errors or experiencing other problems, review the Getting Started page to make sure you have the necessary components to run Collage effectively. Users have reported various random errors when using Collage on a Mac. Internet Explorer 6.0+ on the PC is the recommended browser for Collage use. |
