One Dot, One Vote

Inspired by Boston Magazine’s maps of the mayoral election, these maps of Tulsa’s November 12th mayoral election between Kathy Taylor and Dewey Bartlett show one dot for every vote, color coded by the candidate. The dots are randomly distributed for a more precise visualization of both density and distribution. This is as opposed to a choropleth visualization, which runs the usual risk of distorting size by virtue of unequal unit sizes (precincts).
