Management
It is the job of managers to unearth each employee’s skills, develop them in a way that helps advance the organization, and motivate them to use their energy and creativity to produce the best work possible.
The study of management focuses on three functional areas–marketing, finance, and operations–and explores how they relate to one another and how they can be used as management tools. Courses provide students with added perspectives of law, accounting, management information systems, and business policy to develop your skills in the integrative and strategic roles of management.
In addition to having broad business knowledge, managers must be leaders and motivate others to lead. Students develop these skills through the use of case studies, management simulations, and group research projects.
Managers align employees to achieve departmental and organizational goals. They can motivate them to stay the course. They can foster their creativity and increase their productivity. The management concentration hones students’ skills and gives them the background to be effective managers.
