International Business
Large banks, insurance companies, governments, trade associations, and transnational bodies have a growing need for managers who understand international business issues and increasingly require that candidates for top management positions have experience in international operations.
The study of international business promotes an understanding of the issues involved in operating businesses across international boundaries. Functional business courses have an international focus, and major-specific classes deal with international issues from the perspectives of both business and liberal arts, which provide students with the broadest possible background.
As most careers in international business begin in a functional area that has an international component, BSIB students combine their study with one of the eight concentrations offered by CBA. Students also develop competency in a foreign language, a skill viewed as a major asset by many prospective employers.
