Religious Studies
Religious Studies is designed to provide students with an introduction to a variety of religious traditions, with the tools necessary to explore religious theology and praxis across five categories: comparative analyses, traditions that emerge from the ancient Mediterranean and African worlds, traditions that emerge from Asia, the intersections of religion and culture, and textual criticism.
Designed to enhance tolerance towards the varieties of religious expressions throughout the world, it draws on the methods of several disciplines as it seeks to explore religious thought and praxis.
As Religious Studies majors, students may further their studies abroad or complete co-ops in a range of areas such as museums, libraries, law offices, or non-profit organizations. All of this prepares them for graduate study, including law school. Graduates also may choose to enter careers in public relations, publishing, and human services.
