Multimedia Studies
Multimedia is the delivery of rich content through digital media. Digital media broadens exposure to new ideas and creative expressions. It provides a common ground for artists, composers, and designers to experiment and collaborate with a wide variety of partners such as medical researchers, mathematicians, and historians.
The Multimedia Studies dual major is a program that unites the worlds of art and design with music and technology. It offers Art + Design and Music department majors the opportunity to experience the disparate disciplines that contribute to multimedia creation. Balanced between academics and experience, sound and image, the major prepares students to integrate their creative work with the skills required in the growing field of multimedia production.
Please note that if a student is interested in becoming a Multimedia Studies dual major, he or she is encouraged to apply in his or her sophomore year. Although students may apply later in their college career, a student admitted in their middler year or beyond may not be able to complete their coursework within the normal timeframe.
