Environmental Science
Northeastern's Department of Earth and Environmental Studies offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, as well as several Dual Major combinations.
The B.S. in Environmental Science provides students with the skills to work, study, and engage in physical research in the environmental sciences. The program is grounded in the physical processes of the earth's surface, human impacts and issues, analytical tools, and a strong foundation in basic sciences. This leads to selection of a more acute focus on surficial processes, marine science, wildlife studies or environmental geology.
Students in our B.S. program are well prepared for graduate study, including law school. Our graduates work in a variety of government, industry, and independent contracting capacities in a number of environmental fields and for employers such as the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Geological Survey and British Petroleum, to name just a few.
