For Industry

CHN researchers from Northeastern and from CHN's academic partners combine the skills of engineers, physicists, chemists, and materials scientists with perspectives from experts in business and the humanities.

CHN's emphasis on collaboration also extends to its industrial partners, who represent a broad range of busineses: electronics, pharmaceuticals, solar power, aerospace, materials, and biotechnology.

Discovering new applications for nanotechnology is one of the major reasons that CHN fosters close ties with a wide variety of businesses. CHN researchers work together with industry through the Industrial Advisory Board member companies to identify new applications based on CHN research, industry's requirements, and consumer needs.

Industry members offer valuable insights regarding products involving nanotechnology. Companies can also provide investments for specific research projects or product application ideas.

At Northeastern, researchers have a state-of-the-art fabrication facility - the George J. Kostas Nanoscale Technology and Manufacturing Researh Center. Outfitted with a comprehensive slate of up-to-date equipment for fabrication, imaging, and testing, the facility also includes space specifically designed to conduct research with our industrial partners.

Because of its focus on working closely with industry, and its ability to tailor research toward particular outcomes, CHN has the ability to speed the process from research to product development.
