For Faculty
Guidelines and Forms
In order to maximize the effectiveness of the services offered by
The Office of Development, Corporations and Foundations, we ask that
faculty follow a few basic guidelines:
| • |
When considering approaching
a corporation or foundation for support, notify our office in
the early stages of the process. |
| • |
After an initial conversation
with a staff member from our office, provide a written description
of the project. The following details should be included in
a description:
| - |
estimated costs |
| - |
duration |
| - |
faculty involved |
| - |
impact on students |
| - |
space |
| - |
existing financial support |
| - |
source of continuing support
(if applicable) |
| - |
cost sharing requirements |
| - |
use of human subjects |
| - |
vertebrate animals |
| - |
recombinant DNA |
| - |
biological or chemical
hazards, or radiation |
Please download the Grantwriting Guidelines
at the top of this page for a complete list of items that should
be included in a proposal to ensure that the internal review
process goes smoothly.
The Human Subjects Research Protection Form
is also available there. |
| • |
The project will then be formally
submitted to Development for gift potential analysis and action. |
| • |
Approvals must be obtained from
the department chair, the dean and finally the provost before
proposals are submitted to funders. The Proposal
Abstract and Routing Form must be used when acquiring
signatures. |
