City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them skills and opportunities to change the world. Founded in 1988, City Year has served 1 million children, completed more than 20 million hours of service and has engaged more than 1,052,000 citizens in service. Northeastern recognizes the importance of City Year’s mission and has developed a strong co-op program, providing them with students who are just as committed and passionate about civic service. We have partnered together for over 10 years and have hired up to 20 co-op students since 2002. Many of alumni continue to work as leaders for the common good. City Year, located in South Boston, values the co-op program and continues to hire students in their Boston office.
