Each year, approximately 7,000 Northeastern students are placed into co-op positions. OverĀ 75 co-op faculty and staff support those students through the job-search, placement, and evaluation phases of their co-op experience. On-line information systems play a critical role supporting students and faculty/staff though this process by making it possible to:
- Easily, and quickly identify available, appropriate co-op opportunities
- Centrally document placement history
- Assess individual student co-op performance
- Assess aggregate co-op program performance
Co-op Technology Systems is responsible for administering and delivering support in each the following areas:
CO-OP PLACEMENT TRACKING
Monitoring, reporting and reconciliation co-op placement progress through each placement cycle for each of Northeastern University’s colleges
LEARNING ASSESSMENT
Data collection, analysis and publication of co-op student self-assessments, and employer assessments of student-on-the-job performance
RESEARCH AND REPORTING
On-call mining, analysis and reporting of data about Northeastern Cooperative Education
PROCESS & SYSTEMS ENHANCEMENT
Design, development and implementation of improvements that increase the ease-of-use of co-op business processes and information systems
USER -TRAINING PROGRAMS
Development and implementation of training classes that teach co-op business and system processes to new employees, and orient current employees to new systems and tools
ON-CALLĀ SUPPORT
Quick-response to process questions, and resolution of co-op specific technical issues
