Naman Shah Memorial Fund - Phase 1

Project Update 1/28/13

Due to the support we have received from donors through our initial Catalyst fundraiser, we were able to hit our first goal of $5000!

Please help us continue our momentum towards our long-term goal of an endowed fund in honor of our friend and classmate by contributing to Phase 2 of our Catalyst project.

Naman Shah, a 21-year-old student studying Finance, Entrepreneurship and Marketing in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, passed away from multiple organ failure on October 5, 2012. Naman was an extremely active member of the Northeastern community who was truly beloved by all who knew him. Naman’s untimely passing is a reminder that we must strive to emulate his unique spirit, drive and passion every day.

Our hope in the establishment of the Naman Shah Memorial Fund is that Naman’s indelible legacy will persist through other Northeastern students that exhibit some of Naman’s most honorable attributes.

Our Goal

We want the Naman Shah Memorial Fund to honor our dear friend and classmate by providing financial support to a student with a strong academic record, a passion for helping those living in extreme poverty, an unbridled sense of empathy and a commitment to “doing well by doing good." For our first phase on Catalyst, we are aiming to raise $5,000 for the Fund. This will go toward our long-term goal of raising $50,000 so that the fund will be endowed, and Naman's legacy of giving back can last forever.

The Social Enterprise Institute Alumni Association is composed of both current students and recent graduates that have incorporated social entrepreneurship into their academic pursuits through the Social Enterprise Institute's course offerings in social enterprise and international field study programs.
