Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies
The certificate requires four courses in gender studies:
one core course in theory or methodology, and three elective
courses.
The certificate helps students develop theoretical, empirical
and methodological perspectives for studying gender as a crucial
category for understanding the world.
The requirements include:
- one interdisciplinary course chosen from either SOCL 7212 – Feminist Methodologies or SOCL 7202 – Feminist Theory
- three elective courses
Depending on your regular program requirements, the elective courses may be taken in your home department. You and a faculty adviser (designated by Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies) will mutually agree on the course of study.
