Cinema Studies
The certificate in cinema studies requires four graduate courses distributed as follows:
One required course:
- ENGL7331 Film Studies
Three elective courses from among:
- ENGL7274 Topics in Shakespeare
- ENGG334 Contemporary Film
- ENGL7333 American Film
- ENGL7332 Topics in Film
- ENGL7359 Topics in Comparative Literature: Film and Literature
- HIST5239 Media and History
- HIST7219 Topics in Cultural History
- JRNL5309 Documentary Production
Other graduate courses may be substituted for the electives if they meet the requirements of graduate-level film courses; these courses are subject to the approval of the director of the cinema studies program. In addition to required coursework, students must also participate in the colloquia series.
