FAQ
Is there a deadline by which I need to confirm my acceptance?
The Graduate School would appreciate it if you would let us know your plans as soon as possible. You must confirm your enrollment by submitting the required non-refundable $100 enrollment fee via the ApplyYourself system. Please note that some of our academic departments set their own deadlines by which you must respond. This information will be communicated to you directly by your academic department.
When will my I-20 be issued?
An I-20/DS20-19 can take 2-3 weeks to process after receipt of the DCF. Please note that all I-20s are sent via overnight delivery. Do not make a visa appointment until you have received your I-20 or DS-2019.
Will I receive an assistantship?
If you did not receive an award offer with your letter of admission, you have yet to be recommended for one by your department. Feel free to contact your academic department if you have questions.
Who should I contact if I didn’t receive funding?
You can contact the Graduate Coordinator in your academic department since departments make recommendations to the Graduate School for funding.

When does registration begin and how do I register for classes?
Registration usually begins in late-March for Fall semester, and early-November for Spring semester. You can register via your myNEU account. Please adhere to the posted registration deadlines and ensure you are properly registered at least one month prior to the first day of classes.

Yes. Please submit your official transcript to us as soon as your degree and date earned are reflected on the transcript. Normally, institutions post degrees a few weeks after commencement. The Graduate School allows you up to 30 days after classes start to submit your transcript. If the official transcript is not received within this timeframe, a registration hold will be placed on your record for the next semester.

For further information, please contact the University Health and Counseling Services.
