Academic
advising
Advising takes place at the departmental level. If
you have an assistantship, you must get your departmental advisor’s
approval before registering; some departments require advisor
approval for all students.
Assistantship recipients (teaching assistants, research
assistants, and graduate school scholarship) should make arrangements
with their department to discuss course selections with an
advisor. Once the advisor has approved the student’s
course selection, the student can complete the registration
process.
Please note that assistantship
recipients must register for exactly the same courses that have
been approved
by the department advisor. Assistantship recipients must have their
course selection changes approved by their department.
Billing
You will receive a bill from Student Central shortly after
you register for classes. If you have an assistantship,
please pay the balance of what is not covered by your award.
If you have billing questions, contact Student Central at
(617) 373-2270.
IDs
and e-mail accounts
Part-time students receive ID cards in the mail following
their registration. Full-time students may obtain a
student picture ID at the Husky Card Services Office at Student
Central, 120 Hayden Hall after registration. Fall registration
begins mid-July. With a Husky ID, you can get an e-mail account
at InfoCommons, 184 Snell Library, (617) 373-8755 or help@neu.edu.
Parking
permits
The Cashier’s Office, 248 Richards, issues
parking stickers for Northeastern students who wish to commute
by car. To obtain
a parking sticker, students must complete and present a parking
permit application together with payment, a valid student ID,
and the
license plate number of the card that will bear the parking sticker.
Parking permits can be purchased online at www.northeastern.edu/parking/.
