Service Learning

How It Works | Data | Contact

Students in the College of Arts and Sciences can take part in a valuable option that helps the larger community while improving individual skills, knowledge, and social awareness. Service learning opportunities combine coursework with civic responsibility, marrying the real needs of society with challenging academics.

Service learning courses, co-ops, internships, and research projects engage students in faculty-coordinated service projects. Throughout the project, students gain insight through formal, structured reflection. In courses, classwork is a direct reflection of the service. Research projects are designed hand in hand with a local civic organization. CAS students gain practical experience while making a difference to society.
