Nonprofit organizations earn $670 billion annually and one in twelve Americans works in those organizations. Here are some reasons for obtaining a career in the nonprofit world:
Doing Good - People who work for nonprofits believe in a cause or mission and want to contribute to their community.
Great Experience - In nonprofits, you get to wear many hats and develop experiences that you can take with you whether you stay in nonprofits or go to work for a corporation.
Training - Nonprofit organizations are devoted to training and professional development.
Work Environment - At nonprofits, there is more concern about individuals’ work/life balance. Salaries may not be as high as those in private industry, but there are family-friendly policies and more generous vacation plans.
