Choosing or changing a major is a big step and can easily feel overwhelming.  If you are struggling with this decision, you are not alone. More than 50% of all college students are undecided and 75% change their major at least once.

Self-assessment is a check-in with yourself to clarify who you are and what you want. You’ll look at your VIPS-Values, Interests, Personality and Skills

Most people, no matter what age or stage, need help if they are not sure of their direction.
Make an appointment with a Career Services counselor to talk about what kind of self-assessment plan would work best for you.

CONNECT with people to learn more about careers

  • Do Informational Interviews to get the inside story from professionals in your field.
  • Use HuskyNation to search for alumni who may be willing to meet with you. 
  • Use Social Networking sites such as Linkedin and Twitter to connect you to people. Follow Career Services on Twitter and join our Linkedin Group!
  • Attend Career Conversations (Wednesdays at noon) and other Career Services events to meet alumni and professionals in a variety of fields.
  • Attend Career Fairs to learn about employers and career paths
