The Truth About Career Changes
Career transitions can be as simple as managing a promotion and as complicated as crafting a completely new career. Major career transitions can be challenging; get the help and support you need.
- Take time to reflect, explore and talk to people. It will pay off.
- If your current job is toxic, you need a new job, not necessarily a new career.
- Completing a career change usually brings relief, exhilaration and a sense of renewal. However, along the way, be prepared for an emotional roller-coaster ride.
- Career changers almost always take a temporary step back economically as they enter a new field.
- Making a change is an option at any age; don’t assume you are too old to make a new beginning!
