Music Technology Senior Capstone Recital
MUSIC TECHNOLOGY SENIORS TO HOLD CONCERT OF ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS
BOSTON, MA- On April 8th and 9th, 2011, Northeastern University’s Music department will hold a concert of original compositions by the 2011 graduating class of Music Technology students. The concert will mark the culmination of each composer’s degree in contemporary music composition, production, research and technology.
There will be three concerts:
4/8 at 8:00PM
4/9 at 3:00PM
4/9 at 8:00PM
Concerts will feature acoustic, electroacoustic and audiovisual works by M. C. Aylward, Nathaniel Belasco, Andy Cush, Sarah Fylak, Ian Battenfield Headley, Keith Lohnes, Dean Russell, Jason Schneider, Alexander Travis, Edward Young, and Zachary Zukowski.
The concerts will take place at Northeastern University’s performing arts hall the Fenway Center. It is located at 77 Saint Stephen St in Boston, MA. Admission to the event will be free, with ticketing to occur upon entry. The concerts will each last approximately three hours, with programs containing a mixture of various media and composers. The concerts will contain several premiers, many works for pre-recorded media and acoustic instruments, culminations of years of work and professional performers. The live musicians will include pianist Won-Hee An, cellist Patrick Owen and guitarist Robert Ward.
The Music Technology program began in 1998. Graduates of the program have gone on to do everything from pursuing graduate degrees in composition to careers in full-time electroacoustic composition, from careers in sound design to careers in music production or promotion. Please join the Northeastern University Music Technology department for music and refreshments on April 8th and 9th to celebrate this year’s graduates.
